Why We’re Different
There are a lot of programs and people out there that promise a quick, inexpensive, simple divorce. The problem is that in many circumstances, divorces are quite complex and “quick and simple” actually equals uninformed and incorrect. Granted, a brief marriage without any children, assets, or debts, can save a great deal with this type of service. From the complicated to the short and straightforward, SDFMC offers a wide variety of affordable services to fit your particular needs.
How Do I Begin?
During your initial consultation, we will review the services necessary for you to obtain an all-inclusive divorce. This includes including everything from accurately completing all necessary court documents for the divorce, to retirement disbursement after the divorce is complete. We can even assist you with developing a new budget for your life moving forward.
What Fees Do You Charge?
At SDFMC, we strive to provide you with high-quality service at an incredibly affordable price when compared to litigation. We offer both pay-as-you-go and a flat-fee package. With our flat-fee option, you will know up front exactly how much you will spend. This can help you create a functional and realistic budget while going through the divorce process. While we do not offer a “one-size fits all” fee, we do have a process that will guarantee you will not pay for more than you need, or need more than your fee will cover. The level of complexity of your case will be reflected in your fee.
What Services Do You Offer?
We can help you with everything you need to complete your divorce from start to finish. Visit our What We Do page to see the full list of services we offer at SDFMC.
Financial Planning, Before, During, and After:
Each of our mediators at SDFMC has their law degree and are Certified Divorce Financial Analysts (CDFA). A CDFA is extremely beneficial in helping couples to analyze the financial issues present in a separation and divorce. Some of these issues include:
- Marital standard of living concerns
- Tax implications of splitting certain assets
- Tax issues surrounding spousal support
- Avoid IRS pitfalls in future modifications
- Review what your agreements will look like in the future
We also have a fantastic financial planning firm that we work with that share the same holistic ideals as we do. They assist clients that need to create a marital financial plan, divorced couples creating a new budget for their settlement, and draft Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) for splitting retirement assets. The financial team we have connected with is an irreplaceable asset to SDFMC.
Trust and Estate Planning:
We have estate planning firms standing by to handle your estate planning needs. Once the divorce is final, any existing estate plan is null and void. If you are looking for someone to help you with this process, we have the firm for you!
Other Trusted Professionals:
We know it can be difficult to find responsible, professional help these days! During a divorce, you often find yourself having to sell your home, buy a home, fix a home… you may need someone to talk to, or your children may benefit from having someone to talk to. We have compiled a list of trusted referrals for all of your needs. Take a look at our resources page for more information.
